Calgary doctor charged with sexual assaulting patients at clinic
A Calgary doctor is facing charges after allegedly sexually assaulting several patients over a four-year period.
Calgary police say four people came forward in 2023 to report being assaulted by their family physician who worked at the Brentwood Medical Clinic in the city’s northwest.
It is alleged each victim was assaulted in an examination room at the clinic between 2016 and 2020 when the suspect “performed non-consensual sexual acts” during their exams.
Police have charged 46-year-old Phu Truoung Vu with four counts of sexual assault. He is set to appear on court on Dec. 3.

Former Punjab Minister Anil Joshi resigned from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday, citing disappointment over the party's sectarian politics.
In a resignation letter addressed to SAD's working president, Balwinder Singh Bhundar, Joshi slammed the party's focus on sectarian and religious issues over broader concerns affecting Punjab.

Punjab By-polls: 63% voting recorded till 6 pm, highest turnout recorded in Gidderbaha
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C informed that 63% voter turnout has been recorded till 6 PM in the by-elections for 4 Punjab Vidhan Sabha seats.

Premier David Eby has inducted two MLAs from Surrey into the NDP government’s cabinet. Surrey-Guildford MLA Gary Begg has been appointed Minister of Public Safety, a portfolio previously held by Mike Farnworth in the previous government.

Toyota Highlander tops list of most stolen vehicles in 2023: Équité Association
An insurance crime and fraud prevention group says the Toyota Highlander was the most stolen vehicle in 2023, dethroning the Honda CR-V as the nation's top stolen car for two years in a row.
Non-profit Équité Association says the Toyota Highlander topped the list as criminals continue to target vehicles that maximize profit from illegal sales of stolen cars.
The Dodge Ram 1500 series, Lexus RX Series, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 followed the Highlander for being the most frequently stolen vehicles on the list.

Canada Post, union sit down with mediator, but still ‘far apart’ as strike drags on
Representatives from Canada Post and the postal workers union sat down with a special mediator Monday, but seem no closer to reaching a deal as a countrywide strike enters its fifth day.

Two dead after fiery rollover crash on Highway 99 in Surrey, B.C.
Mounties in Surrey, B.C., say they are investigating a fiery overnight crash that killed two people and caused a partial shutdown of Highway 99.
RCMP say officers responded to a report of a vehicle rollover at 3:38 a.m. in the highway's northbound lane between 16 and 32 Avenue, where they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
Police say the driver and a passenger both died in the vehicle, and officers are working to identify the victims.
The cause of the incident remains unclear, and police say the investigation is still in its early stages.
