Senior BJP leader in Punjab Vijay Sampla may say goodbye to the party. Sampla was the contender for ticket from Hoshiapur Lok Sabha seat but the party gave the ticket to Union Minister Som Prakash's wife Anita Som Prakash.

B.C. celebrates 10 billion seedlings planted since 1930
British Columbia officials are celebrating the planting of 10 billion seedlings since reforestation efforts began nearly a century ago.
A statement from the Forests Ministry says two billion of those seedlings have been planted in the last seven years.
It says the 10-billionth seedling was among 305 million that were planted throughout the province last year, and Forests Minister Bruce Ralston planted a ceremonial tree in Surrey's Green Timbers Urban Forest Park to mark the milestone on Monday.

Aam Aadmi Party has released its final list for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab. In this, the party has announced the names of its three current MLAs, including the former Akali MLA.

Urban firefighters to get additional training to also battle wildfire blazes
The federal government is doubling its investment to train urban firefighters to battle wildfires a growing threat to Canada's cities and towns.
Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson says the government is giving $800,000 to the International Association of Fire Fighters to conduct additional training.
That's twice the sum spent last year on 25 instructors who then trained more than 300 firefighters in Chilliwack and Kamloops, B.C, and Grand Prairie, Alta.
