Dhindsa said that we are not slaves of Sukhbir Singh Badal, who has made Shiromani Akali Dal as "Badal Private Limited".

Former Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa has given a sharp reaction to the disciplinary committee of Shiromani Akali Dal expelling him and other rebel leaders from the party.

Dhindsa said that we are not slaves of Sukhbir Singh Badal, who has made Shiromani Akali Dal as "Badal Private Limited". He said that we are running a "reform movement" to strengthen the party and we don't need to get certificates from anyone.

Dhindsa said that the people of Punjab have rejected Sukhbir Badal many times but Sukhbir is continuously stabbing the party in the back by remaining on the presidency.

At the same time, about the apology given to Ram Rahim and the role of Sukhbir in it, Dera's former lover Pradeep Keller has made many revelations in an interview, regarding which Dhindsa has accused Sukhbir Badal of the allegations. Clarification has been sought.

20 Palestinians killed at Gaza distribution site, says Israeli-backed aid group

An American aid organization says 20 Palestinians were killed at a distribution site in Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Fund said it believed that 19 died from trampling Wednesday at its food distribution center and one was stabbed. The group accuses Hamas of spreading panic but provided no evidence. Witnesses said GHF guards threw stun grenades and used pepper spray on people pressing to get into the site before it opened, causing panic. The United Nations reports 875 Palestinians have died near aid sites since May. Meanwhile, hospital officials say Israeli strikes killed 41 others, including 1

RCMP arrest alleged hijacker at Vancouver airport after airspace shut down

RCMP say they've arrested the pilot of a small aircraft that was allegedly hijacked from Victoria and flown to Vancouver International Airport, where other flights had to be temporarily halted. RCMP in Richmond, B.C., say in a statement that a report came in just after 1 p.m. Tuesday about a Cessna that "had been hijacked" and was on its way to Vancouver. Police say the "sole occupant" of the plane was arrested after it touched down. Social media videos show multiple police vehicles on the Vancouver runway behind a single-engine plane, and several officers advancing on the aircraft. A photo on

Alberta Next panel holding its second event in Edmonton after support in Red Deer

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and her panel of appointees will hear from another town hall today on the province's game plan to push back against the federal government. The first Alberta Next town hall in Red Deer yesterday saw most attendees applaud ideas aimed at seizing control from Ottawa. That includes pulling out of the Canada Pension Plan and creating a provincial police force to replace the RCMP. Tonight, the panel will be pitching its tent in Edmonton, a city that remains a political stronghold for the Opposition NDP, led by Naheed Nenshi. Smith has said she believes in a sov

Carney heads to Hamilton to meet steelworkers as U.S. trade talks continue

Prime Minister Mark Carney is scheduled to be in Hamilton today to make an announcement related to the steel industry. It has been more than a month since U.S. President Donald Trump doubled tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25 to 50 per cent, adding further economic insult to the two industries in Canada. Carney met with his cabinet virtually on Tuesday and told reporters before that meeting he doesn't think Trump will agree to any trade deals without including some tariffs. Carney will tour a steel company in the city and meet with workers during his visit to Hamilton. Carney and Trump hav

Bad déjà vu: Different impaired dump truck driver, same company

A dump truck was impounded for 30-days, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and multiple violation tickets were issued after another impaired investigation involving a commercial vehicle. On Thursday, July 3, 2025, Burnaby RCMP’s designated commercial vehicle enforcement officer was driving behind a loaded dump truck travelling southbound on Boundary Road in the left lane. In a short period of time, the officer observed the commercial vehicle cross over the centre line and swerve into the right lane several times. The dump truck was also observed hitting the raised centre medi
