Vancouver Island RCMP have arrested three people following a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected drugs and more than $100,000 in cash.
According to Port McNeill RCMP, officers searched several homes and vehicles in the city as part of the investigation. During the searches, police seized approximately one kilogram of suspected cocaine, a significant quantity of ketamine and other drugs.
Officers also seized two rifles, a shotgun and several mobile phones.
Investigators have asked the court to authorize the seizure of two vehicles allegedly used in drug trafficking.
Sergeant Erin Stevenson said the operation represents a significant blow to a drug trafficking network operating across northern Vancouver Island. The investigation remains ongoing.
Police have not released further details about the exact date and time of the searches or provided additional information about the three people arrested.
