Toronto police say they are investigating reports that a firearm was discharged near the United States Consulate in downtown Toronto.
Police said officers responded to the area of University Avenue and Queen Street West after receiving reports of gunfire. In a post on social media, Toronto police said evidence consistent with a firearm discharge was found at the scene.
Authorities say there are no reports of injuries.
Police have not released information about a possible suspect and say the investigation remains ongoing.
The southbound lanes of University Avenue near the consulate have been closed while officers investigate the incident.
