Three separate shooting incidents were reported in Abbotsford, Delta and Vancouver over the long weekend, leaving two people injured.
The first incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of McCallum Road in Abbotsford. Police said occupants of a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at a moving vehicle. No one was injured. Shortly afterward, officers found an SUV fully engulfed in flames about five kilometres away. Police are investigating whether the vehicle fire was connected to the shooting and believe the incident was targeted.
The second shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday near the Highway 91 on-ramp in Delta, where a parked Tesla was struck by gunfire. One person inside the vehicle was shot and taken to hospital for treatment. Investigators are searching for a grey Kia Forte in connection with the incident.
Later Sunday morning, around 7:15 a.m., a shooting was reported inside a store in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. A store employee was injured in the incident.
Police have not announced any arrests in connection with the three shootings, and investigations remain ongoing.
