Three men arrested after Vancouver police seize fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine in downtown investigation

Three men have been arrested after a Vancouver Police Department investigation into suspected drug trafficking led to the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and cash from a downtown Vancouver hotel.

According to a Vancouver Police Department news release, patrol officers launched "Project Atlas" earlier this month after observing what police described as suspicious activity at the Murray Hotel, located at 1117 Hornby St. Officers later executed a search warrant at the property.

Police said they seized approximately 344 grams of fentanyl, 336 grams of cocaine, 75 grams of methamphetamine, an imitation firearm, several edged weapons and about $1,300 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $86,000.

A 37-year-old Surrey man, a 42-year-old Ontario man and a 46-year-old Vancouver man were arrested. Police said all three were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The Surrey and Vancouver men were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking, while the Ontario man was arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a peace officer. The allegations have not been tested in court.

Inspector Erin Roulston said the investigation demonstrates the value of proactive policing. "Their work resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, helping to protect our community from the harms associated with drug trafficking," Roulston said.
