Punjab Police arrested Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Thursday morning in the 2015 drug case.

A team of Punjab Police under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Manjit Singh raided Khaira's house in Chandigarh around 6 am.

Describing Khaira's arrest as a clear case of revenge politics to intimidate opposition leaders, Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said that the arrest is an attempt to intimidate the opposition and divert attention from the Aam Aadmi Party government's core issues and a trick to distraction.

He said that they stand firmly with Khaira and will definitely take this fight to its conclusion.
