The rebel faction of the Shiromani Akali Dal has completely rejected Sukhbir Badal's decision to expel them from the party.

A meeting of the rebel faction was held in Chandigarh today under the leadership of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa. On this occasion, Dhindsa also announced that a general meeting will be called soon to elect a new president of the party. This is a direct challenge to Sukhbir Badal.

Dhindsa said that the head of the political wing of Dera Sacha Sauda has revealed the truth about Sukhbir Badal's meetings with Ram Rahim, so now Sukhbir has no right to remain the party president.

It is to be noted that yesterday the disciplinary committee headed by Balwinder Singh Bhundar announced the expulsion of 8 rebel leaders including Bibi Jagir Kaur, Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra, Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Sikandar Singh Maluka from Shiromani Akali Dal.
