The unemployment rate fell from 8.2 per cent in May to 7.8 per

cent last month as the economy added 230-thousand, 700 jobs.

The gains came as pandemic restrictions were lifted or relaxed

across the country.

Statistics Canada reports an increase of almost 264-thousand

part-time jobs, but a drop of more than 33-thousand full-time jobs.
