An election rally was held today in Mansa of Punjab in favor of BJP candidate Parampal Kaur. Union Minister Smriti Irani was supposed to participate in this rally but she could not join the rally because the administration did not give a signal to her helicopter to land.

BJP candidate Parampal Kaur accused the state's Aam Aadmi Party and said that earlier they found various obstacles to prevent her from contesting the election, now to make her rally a failure, Union Minister Smriti Irani's helicopter was not allowed to land. It is to be noted that Parampal Kaur is the daughter-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal's former minister Sikandar Singh Maluka. Maluka has recently praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for which the party is considering taking disciplinary action against him.

However, sources say that the Akali Dal is refraining from taking action against Maluka for fear of loss as it will have a direct impact on the Bathinda seat, which could make things difficult for Harsimrat Badal.

Police say the Othello Tunnels in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park in Hope, B.C., has reopened, while a search to find a missing man who fell into the river last weekend continues.
