Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress have released the first list of their candidates in Punjab. Congress has announced the names of its candidates from 6 seats out of 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of Punjab.

Sukhpal Singh Khaira has been given a ticket by the party from Sangrur and Charanjit Singh Channi has been made a candidate from Jalandhar. Dharamvir Gandhi will contest from Patiala for Congress. At the same time, the Shiromani Akali Dal has announced the names of its candidates from seven of the 13 seats.

Former Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema will be the party's candidate from Gurdaspur and Prem Singh Chandumajra, a former Lok Sabha member from Anandpur Sahib, will be the Akali Dal's candidate.

The party has given ticket to Narendra Kumar Sharma from Patiala and Anil Joshi from Amritsar. At the same time, Harsmirat Kaur Badal's name is not in the first list, but Harsmirat Kaur Badal says that if the party makes her a candidate, she will contest from Bathinda itself.

Quebec universities see steep decline in international student enrolment amid tighter immigration rules

A group representing Quebec universities is reporting that international student enrolment has dropped sharply compared to last year.
