A meeting was held today between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and representatives of the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh, which lasted for about two hours. However, no agreement was reached on any of the issues discussed during the meeting.

Farmer leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan announced that farmers would stage a firm protest in Chandigarh starting March 5. At the same time, farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal alleged that the Chief Minister had left the meeting in anger.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted that he had appealed to the farmer organizations, urging them to reconsider their approach. He emphasized that blocking roads and trains or shutting down Punjab is not a solution to any issue, and such actions only cause hardship for the common people.

Canada's inflation rate slows to slowest since September

Canada's inflation rate has slowed to its slowest since September. According to Statistics Canada, inflation in April rose to 1.7 percent from a year earlier, down from 2.3 percent in March. The sharp decline in inflation last month was due to the consumer carbon tax that was abolished in early April, while core inflation, i.e. grocery inflation, did not see any relief. The Bank of Canada mainly looks at core inflation to raise or lower interest rates. According to the Statistics Department, grocery prices rose by 3.8 percent year-on-year in April. Zelensky said that Putin is not serious about moving forward on peace. It is noteworthy that Trump had said in a statement a day earlier after separate phone calls with the two leaders that Russia and Ukraine would soon start talks on a ceasefire. At the same time, Putin had said that he was ready to talk about a possible peace agreement in the future but did not respond to the demand for an early 30-day pause in the war. Mean
