The by-election of Jalandhar West Vidhan Sabha Constituency of Punjab is going to be held on July 10 and in between Shiromani Akali Dal rebel leaders Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Sikandar Singh Maluka and Surjit Singh Rakhra and others have contested from Sukhbir Singh Badal. He has come under sharp attack for supporting the BSP.

Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that Sukhbir Badal has shown his back to the Panth by supporting the BSP. Leaders of the rebel faction said that 'Takkadi' is a highly respected electoral symbol of the Sikh panth.

The identity of the Sikhs is connected with it and Sukhbir's lowering its respect is disrespecting the Sikh panth.

He said that Justice Ranjit Singh, who investigated the incidents of blasphemy, has written clearly in his book about the role of Sukhbir Singh Badal in pardoning Dera Sirsa chief and the party is suffering the consequences.
