The family of the deceased alleges that their son has been murdered, but the American police have given the family the cause of death as a heart attack.

A 32-year-old Punjabi man from Kapurthala has died under mysterious circumstances in California, just days before his planned wedding in India. The deceased has been identified as Gurjit Singh, who was scheduled to be married on October 18.

Family members in Kapurthala say wedding preparations were in full swing when they received the shocking news from the United States. They allege that Gurjit was murdered, while American police have reportedly told them the cause of death was a heart attack.

According to relatives, Gurjit had completed packing his belongings and was preparing to fly back to Punjab for the wedding when he was found dead. His family has appealed to both Indian and U.S. authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Local community leaders in Punjab have also urged the Indian government to assist the family in obtaining clear information from U.S. officials.

U.S. Vice-President says federal Medicaid payments to Minnesota paused amid fraud probe

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will temporarily suspend part of Minnesota’s Medicaid funding while federal officials investigate suspected fraud, Vice-President JD Vance said on Wednesday. Vance described the step as part of a broader effort by the administration to address what it calls “waste, fraud and abuse” in federally supported programs. The funding pause affects certain federal matching dollars that help the state deliver Medicaid services to eligible residents. Medicaid is the principal public health insurance program for low-income Americans. According to fede
