Another officer of Punjab may enter politics. Punjab Police ADGP Gurinder Singh Dhillon has taken premature retirement. According to sources, he may join a political party soon.

However, Gurinder Singh Dhillon says that he has not yet thought about joining politics. He was holding the charge of ADGP - Law and Order. He said in a tweet that he is now feeling free.

It is to be noted that shortly before this IAS Officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu opted for voluntary retirement to join the BJP and is contesting from Bathinda. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap left the police service to enter politics.

Calgary Police Say Suspect in Officer Shooting Had Organized Crime Ties

Calgary police say the man who shot at officers and struck one officer twice during a traffic stop yesterday had ties to organized crime. Police have not identified the suspect, who was later found dead in the Bow River from what they describe as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators have not provided details about the type of organized crime group he was allegedly connected to. The officer was shot twice and is expected to make a full recovery. The shooting happened shortly before noon near Spruce Cliff and Edworthy Park, west of downtown Calgary.
