Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded 4 days after PM Justin Trudeau congratulated him. PM Modi while accepting the congratulatory message said that both the countries have to respect each other's concerns.

Earlier, Trudeau also congratulated PM Modi on his third consecutive victory and tweeted that Canada is ready to work with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government to strengthen mutual relations based on human rights and the rule of law. The two leaders also tried to convey a message to each other.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has also congratulated PM Narendra Modi on becoming the Prime Minister again. It is to be noted that in the last 4 months, various ministers of Pakistan have made several statements about improving relations with India.

In April, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed hope that relations between the two countries would improve after the Lok Sabha elections in India. He had said that India-Pakistan relations have a special history of their own, in such a situation, the situation is expected to change after the elections.
