A meeting of the core committee of the party was held today to discuss the disappointing defeat of Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab. This time Shiromani Akali Dal had fielded candidates for all 13 Lok Sabha seats but the party got success in only one seat. The party's vote percentage has also decreased.

Sukhbir Badal said that a strategy will be made for the seats where the by-elections are to be held. Meanwhile, there has been a demand to change the president of Shiromani Akali Dal.

In this regard, Charanjit Singh Brar has written a letter to Sukhbir Badal, in which he has said that this process should be completed by December 14, 2024 and till then Panch Pradhani should be made for the interests of the party.

Earlier, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa had said that party president Sukhbir Singh Badal is responsible for the embarrassing defeat of Akali Dal and he should resign immediately.

An 18-year-old man from Nanaimo has died following a fiery collision on Highway 1, and investigators are appealing for witnesses and dash camera footage to help determine what happened. RCMP officer injured after head-on crash in Chilliwack

A Chilliwack RCMP officer is recovering in hospital after a serious two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning on Vedder Road.
