Amidst Pakistan's drone incursions at 26 locations on India's western front and India's targeting of Pakistani military installations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reviewed the security situation in a high-level meeting at his residence.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the three service chiefs. The Prime Minister reviewed India's preparedness with the armed forces.
The Prime Minister also took note of India's retaliatory action against Pakistan's drone incursions.
The Prime Minister has held this meeting at a time when the US, China and Saudi Arabia have intensified efforts to reduce tension between the two countries (India and Pakistan) and Pakistan has also made it clear that it has no intention of using nuclear weapons at the present time.
Earlier, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had also claimed that if India does not carry out further attacks, his country may consider reducing tensions.
