After nine months of investigation, BC Highway Patrol – Keremeos forwarded a report to the BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) who approved the following charges against 30-year-old Vanessa Lameiras:
Lameiras was arrested on July 31, 2025, without incident, and first appeared in court on August 6, 2025.
Thorough investigations take time, and it’s important that the community is updated when they are complete, says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. We hope the court process brings some measure of closure to the family and friends of the victim.
