Mission RCMP say three people have been arrested following an investigation into an online drug delivery operation that allegedly sold cannabis and psilocybin products to minors in the Mission area.
According to Mission RCMP, the investigation began earlier this year after a 16-year-old and their parent reported that the teenager had purchased psilocybin and cannabis through a website offering same-day delivery in Mission. Police said a second parent later reported that their teenager had purchased psilocybin gummies marketed with candy-themed branding through the same website.
The allegations prompted Mission RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit to launch an investigation. Police said officers determined the business was operating from Abbotsford while delivering products to customers in Mission.
Search warrants were executed May 20 at properties on Spencer Street and King Road in Abbotsford. According to police, investigators seized multiple packages of suspected psilocybin and cannabis products, more than 1,000 edible cannabis packages, more than 1,000 vape products, and nearly 200 packages of edible psilocybin products. RCMP noted that laboratory testing is still required to confirm the contents of the seized items.
Two men, aged 49 and 34, and a 42-year-old woman were arrested during the operation. All three have since been released from custody while the investigation remains ongoing.
Mission RCMP said the investigation was prioritized because of allegations that the operation was selling drugs directly to youth. Police are asking anyone with information about individuals or businesses involved in selling drugs to minors to contact Mission RCMP or their local police agency.
