West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on August 26 urged state governments to reach out to the Supreme Court for the postponement of JEE, NEET exams.

"This will be my request to all state governments, let us do it together, let us go to Supreme Court and postpone the exam for the time being until and unless the situation allows students to sit for exam (JEE/NEET)," said Banerjee.

Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi interacted with the seven state chief ministers on various national issues.

On the other hand, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey has slammed the leaders opposing the NEET, JEE Main examination in September due to COVId-19 conditions and said it is important to look at the future of students and unnecessary objections should not be raised.
