King Charles and Queen Camilla visited Canada House today to mark 100 years of the Canadian High Commission in London, ahead of their visit next week. Their visit is being seen as a show of support for Canada amid threats from Trump.
Charles and Camilla met with Canadian officials at Canada House in London, including Canadian High Commissioner Ralph Goodale. King Charles is also expected to meet with Trump in September. Before that, he will be in Ottawa on May 26 and 27 to attend the opening of Canada's new parliamentary session.
On May 27, the King will set out the priorities of the new Mark Carney government in a speech to Parliament, usually delivered by the governor general, who represents the king or queen in Canada. It is noteworthy that the last Throne Speech in the Canadian Parliament before King Charles was given by Queen Elizabeth in 1977.
