The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has banned the broadcasting of news channel of Zee Media Group in the state. The state government has not issued any formal notification regarding this decision but it is reported that this media group had shown an objectionable video of Bhagwant Mann government minister Balkar Singh with a 21-year-old girl on its channel, after which the Aam Aadmi Party government The channel was banned in Punjab.

On the news of banning the broadcast of the channel, the opposition surrounded the Aam Aadmi Party government, calling it an attack on democracy and comparing it to an emergency.

President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Harjinder Singh Dhami also raised questions, he said that Aam Aadmi Party is trying to suppress the media.
