A court in Punjab has extended the police remand of former Aam Aadmi Party minister Laljit Singh Bhullar by three days after his initial five-day custody period ended. He was produced in court following the expiry of the earlier remand.
According to police, investigators have not yet recovered key evidence, including a mobile phone, during questioning. Authorities told the court that further custodial interrogation is required as part of the ongoing investigation.
Bhullar was arrested in connection with the death of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, a district manager with the Punjab Warehousing Corporation, who died by suicide. Police said the case is being investigated based on allegations linked to the circumstances leading up to his death.
Officials have cited a video recorded by Randhawa before his death in which he allegedly held Bhullar responsible. The claims in the video have not been independently verified and remain part of the police investigation.
Police have also named Bhullar’s father, Sukhdev Singh Randhawa, and his personal assistant, Dilbag Singh, in the case. According to authorities, lookout circulars have been issued against both individuals. Connect Newsroom contacted representatives for Bhullar for comment. No response was received by publication time.
