In India, 4 deaths have been reported due to Corona in the last 24 hours, two in Maharashtra and 1 each in Delhi and Kerala. According to the Health Department, 113 people have died due to Corona since January 2025. The highest number of deaths have occurred in Kerala and Maharashtra. A total of 13 deaths have also occurred in Delhi. There are 6,483 active cases of Corona in 32 states and union territories of the country. So far 42 patients of Corona have been found in Punjab.

Port Alberni RCMP is investigating following the discovery of a deceased person in a local park on Monday. On June 16, 2025, at 5:41 p.m., Port Alberni RCMP received the report of a body in Dry Creek Park. Frontline officers responded and located a deceased person with apparent injuries. Forensic Identification Services attended and processed the scene. The B-C Wildfire Service says it has issued an area restriction around the Kiskatinaw (kiss-KAT'-in-aw) River wildfirenear the B-C-Alberta border. The service says the restriction takes effect this morning and will last until October, restricting entry to a large swath of Crown land where the fire has spurred evacuation orders and alerts.
