In Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The top court has rejected the petition filed by the Punjab government to cancel his bail.

In fact, the Punjab government had approached the Supreme Court against the bail granted to Majithia by the Punjab-Haryana High Court in the drug case.

Along with this, the Supreme Court has directed Bikram Singh Majithia and the Punjab Police to refrain from making any public statement regarding the matter, but the top court made it clear that if Majithia tries to influence the witnesses or the trial in the drug case, the Anti-Narcotics Special Task Force will be free to file a petition to cancel Majithia's bail.

Abbotsford hotel death under investigation by IHIT

Abbotsford police have turned over an investigation into a death at a local hotel to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
