Surrey’s newly elected mayor, Doug McCallum, has officially endorsed Lorne Doerkson and the B.C. Conservative Party as the provincial election campaign enters its final stage.
Speaking at a B.C. Conservative rally in Newton last night, McCallum addressed a crowd of more than 2,000 people and said, “We changed Surrey, now let’s change B.C.”
Former Surrey mayors Dianne Watts and Linda Hepner also joined McCallum on stage, urging voters to support the B.C. Conservative Party.
Political observers say McCallum’s endorsement could influence the race in Surrey’s 10 key provincial ridings. His recent municipal election victory, alongside the Safe Surrey Coalition’s strong performance on city council, has brought added attention to his political support.
