Congress suspended MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary from the party

Punjab Congress has suspended the current MLA Bikramjit Singh Chaudhary from Phillaur constituency of Jalandhar from the party.

This action against Chaudhary has been taken because of his repeated use of words against the party. It may be mentioned that ever since the party started the discussions to announce Charanjit Channi as candidate from Jalandhar, Bikramjit Chaudhary had been opposing Channi since then.

He wanted his family to be given the ticket but it did not happen and his mother Karamjit Kaur Chowdhury recently left the Congress and joined the BJP as a protest against not getting the ticket. Bikramjit Chaudhary is the son of late Santokh Singh Chaudhary, who was the party's Member of Parliament from Jalandhar.
