Charges approved after women allegedly sexually assaulted during treatments at Burnaby skincare clinic

A Burnaby RCMP investigation has resulted in two charges against an employee at a Burnaby skincare business, and police are urging any others with information to come forward.

An investigation was launched in 2019 after a victim reported to police that she was sexually assaulted during treatment at a business operating as Fab Skin Care at 5481 Kingsway in Burnaby.

In 2021, a second victim who underwent treatment by the same practitioner at the clinic also came forward to police, allowing Burnaby RCMP’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offence Unit (CASO) to gather additional evidence.

On March 14, 2022 47-year-old Farshad Khojsteh Kashani was charged with two counts of Sexual Assault with a Weapon.

Under his court-ordered conditions, Farshad Khojsteh Kashani is prohibited from performing any form of laser treatments.

We are grateful to the two women who came forward to police, but our investigators haven’t ruled out that there could be other people with information who we have not yet heard from, said Cpl. Michelle Hurtubise with Burnaby RCMP. We are appealing for anyone else with information to contact our investigators.

Drug Toxicity Crisis in B.C.: 138 Deaths Reported in June 2026

Suspected unregulated drug toxicity claimed 138 lives in British Columbia in June 2026, according to preliminary data from the BC Coroners Service. That works out to approximately 4.6 deaths per day. During the first six months of 2026, people between the ages of 30 and 59 accounted for 68% of all drug-toxicity deaths in the province, while 75% of those who died were male.
