The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives says only four of Canada's 100 highest-paid CEOs are women. Those CEOs broke records with their compensation in 2022, making 14.9-million-dollars, up from an average of 14.3-million in 2021.

That's 246 times more than the average Canadian worker. Restaurant Brands International executive chairman J. Patrick Doyle topped the list, followed by Dye & Durham CEO Matthew Proud. The head of Restaurant Brands International was the highest-paid Canadian CEO in 2022, according to the latest findings by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

Topping its list of Top-100 chief executives was J. Patrick Doyle, whose company owns Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes. Doyle made 152.8-million dollars and came exclusively in the form of share and option based awards.

The report said the top 100 broke records for their compensation in 2022 in being paid an average of 14.9-million dollars, that's 246 times more than what the average Canadian worker makes.

Bus rollover near Beaverlodge sends several passengers to hospital

RCMP say several passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a charter bus rolled off a highway near Beaverlodge in northwestern Alberta early Wednesday morning.
