Carney congratulates Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving continuously serving prime minister

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest-serving continuously serving prime minister in India’s history.

The congratulatory message comes as Canada and India are engaged in high-level discussions on trade and investment issues, including efforts to address trade barriers and expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

Projections cited by officials suggest India’s economy could reach approximately US$14 trillion by 2040, while Canada’s economy is projected to reach about US$3.8 trillion over the same period.
