This time in Punjab, two big political leaders of Patiala, former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and former Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu, were absent from the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. Navjot Sidhu neither appeared on any political platform nor did he ask for votes for any candidate.

At the same time, Captain Amarinder did not campaign for the election citing his ill health, but he issued a letter urging the people of the constituency to vote in favor of Praneet Kaur.

Navjot Sidhu had left politics as soon as the dates of the Lok Sabha elections were announced, he made a commentary for the IPL, on the last day of the election campaign, the IPL was over, in such a situation it was expected that he would attend Rahul Gandhi's Patiala rally. but it did not happen.

Sidhu's wife is battling with cancer, so these days he is focusing on her.
