A Canadian truck driver has been arrested by Michigan State Police after approximately 93 kilograms of suspected cocaine, worth more than $1.86 million, were discovered inside his trailer during a traffic stop in St. Clair County on Halloween night.
Police stopped the Ontario-plated truck around 12:20 a.m. for a traffic violation. During a search of the trailer, officers found two garbage bags and two duffel bags containing the suspected cocaine.
According to reports, the truck was travelling from Texas to Ontario carrying folding cartons, allegedly using the shipment as cover to transport drugs into the Canadian market.
On November 2, charges of drug trafficking and cocaine possession were filed against the driver, identified as Kawalpreet Singh, in a Michigan court.
