Canadian Government to Grant Legal Status to Thousands of Undocumented Workers

The Canadian government has announced plans to grant legal status to thousands of undocumented individuals, with a focus on construction workers. Immigration Minister Mark Miller made the announcement at a news conference today, stating that approximately 6,000 construction workers with expired documents will be given a pathway to obtain legal status to stay in Canada.

While the exact number of undocumented people in Canada remains unclear, estimates suggest that between 200,000 and 500,000 immigrants are living in the country without proper documentation. Some experts believe the actual number could be even higher, as Canada has issued more temporary work and study permits in recent years.
