It is important to note that Singh has been leading the party since 2017, making this election a pivotal moment for him politically. Despite his extensive political experience, public opinion polls indicate that his party is trailing far behind the Liberals and Conservatives ahead of the April 28 elections.

These elections are especially critical for Canada, given the backdrop of Trump's tariffs and threats against the country. According to the latest survey conducted by Leger between March 21 and 23, the NDP's support has dropped to just 6 percent, a three-point decrease from the previous survey.
