Canada and Ukraine Announce 100-Year Agreement on Defence, Energy and Trade

Canada and Ukraine have announced a 100-year agreement covering defence, energy and trade, signed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their meeting in Calgary.

The landmark agreement will see the two countries expand cooperation in defence, technology and investment, including joint production of drones, anti-drone systems, electronic warfare technology and weapons.

Carney also announced air-defence support for Ukraine to help counter Russian missile attacks. In addition, Canada has pledged more than $430 million in loan guarantees to help maintain Ukraine’s gas supply through the winter.

During the meeting, Carney reaffirmed Canada’s full support for Ukraine’s efforts to join NATO and the European Union.

Abbotsford Crash: Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in SUV Collision

A motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with an SUV at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford. According to police, the crash happened at around 4 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital in critical condition and is currently fighting for their life.
