It has been decided to send Punjab BJP leader and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu to the Rajya Sabha. BJP is sending him to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Bittu's name was approved in the BJP high command meeting on Tuesday.

The last date for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections is August 21. Bittu will file nomination tomorrow itself. Ravneet Bittu, a two-time Member of Parliament from Ludhiana, left the Congress and joined the BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

After joining the BJP, the party gave him a ticket from Ludhiana itself, but he had to face defeat from the Congress candidate Amarinder Singh Raja Waring by 20 thousand 942 votes.
