Big relief to Bikram Majithia from High Court, summons sent in NDPS case withdrawn by Sit

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has got a big relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in the drug smuggling case worth crores of rupees. The Special Task Force (SIT) investigating the case has responded in court that they have withdrawn the summons sent to Majithia for questioning.

In fact, Majithia had challenged Sit's summons in the High Court. had described these summons as illegal and demanded their cancellation. As soon as the hearing was held in the High Court today, the Public Prosecutor of the Punjab Government told the High Court that this notice of summons is being withdrawn. After this information, the High Court has disposed of the petition.

It is to be noted that on the basis of the Sit report, a case was registered against Majithia under the NDPS Act in December 2021 during the former Channi government.

Majithia surrendered in court in February 2022 after the assembly elections, after which he spent several months in Patiala jail and is still out on bail. Now they were again being issued summons by the SIT and the High Court has disposed of this case today.
