There has been a discussion about Amritpal Singh, the head of the organization of Punjab, contesting the election as an independent candidate from the Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha seat of Punjab.

This claim was made by his lawyer Rajdev Singh Khalsa. However, amid these news, the statement of his father Tarsem Singh has also come out, who said that Amritpal Singh has no intention of contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

He said that he would meet Amritpal tomorrow in Dibrugarh Jail, and also said that he did not want Amritpal Singh to contest the election.

It is to be noted that at present Amritpal Singh along with his companions are locked up in Dibrugarh Jail of Assam under the National Security Act. Punjab Police arrested Amritpal Singh in April 2023 from Rode village of Moga district.
