Arrest and charges against 2 men after Cloverdale incident

The RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit General Investigations Unit is investigating allegations of sexual assault and forcible confinement, which has resulted in arrests and charges laid against two individuals.

On March 30, 2025, RCMP SPOSU investigators responded to an incident which occurred at a residence in the 19400 block of Colebrook Road in Surrey.

Two adult men have been arrested and charged in relation to this investigation:

Gregory Philip Jolicoeur, also known as ‘Hippy’
- 1 count each of forcible confinement, contrary to Sec. 279(2) of the Criminal Code and assault, contrary to Sec. 266 of the Criminal Code
- 1 count of sexual assault, contrary to Sec. 271 of the Criminal Code
Coltin Charles Lipus
- 1 count each of forcible confinement, contrary to Sec. 279(2) of the Criminal Code and assault, contrary to Sec. 266 of the Criminal Code

Gregory Philip Jolicoeur was remanded in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on May 6, 2025. Coltin Charles Lipus was released from custody with strict bail conditions until his next court appearance on April 25, 2025.

The victim’s name and identity are covered by a publication ban under section 486.4(2) of the Criminal Code.

A wildfire has destroyed much of the seasonal camp at Whitewater Lake First Nation, located about 250 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, marking the second First Nation community in Ontario to suffer significant wildfire damage in less than a week. Brampton man identified as homicide victim after body found in Stoney Creek

Hamilton Police have identified a man whose body was found in a Stoney Creek creek on Wednesday morning as 29-year-old Taranpreet Singh Sidhu of Brampton.
