Opposites are known to attract, but in Nanaimo, similarities appear equally enticing, at least when it comes to crime.
A statement from Nanaimo RCMP says officers had just arrested a suspect in a gas station robbery near the downtown core last Thursday, when another alleged miscreant took advantage of the situation.
Police say the keen-eyed crook scooped up the first robber's backpack, allegedly stuffed with recently stolen cash, and fled as officers were taking the original suspect into custody.
The second person was chased, arrested and the backpack and money were recovered, and Mounties say a 27 year old woman and 30 year old man are both facing charges.
