PM Justin Trudeau has appointed Anita Anand of Indian origin as the Transport Minister in place of former Cabinet Minister Pablo Rodriguez. Anita Anand also has the responsibility of the Treasury Board. In this way he will hold dual responsibility in the government.

According to sources, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is likely to reshuffle the cabinet once again in the next few months.

Let it be known that former Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez was also PM Justin Trudeau's political lieutenant for Quebec.

Public Service Minister Jean-Yves Duclos will now work in this role. Duclos is the MP from Quebec City.

Speaking to reporters, Anita Anand thanked Rodriguez for his contribution to the government, but Anand deflected questions about what political impact Rodriguez's departure would have on the Liberals.

It is to be noted that Pablo Rodriguez has left the position in the government but has not resigned from his seat, so he will sit in the House as an independent MP.
