The funeral service for RCMP Constable Shaelyn Yang has been told it's ``profoundly tragic'' that she didn't get the chance to fulfil her potential within the police service.

RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki was among those who spoke at the service at the Richmond Oval, saying Yang was admired and respected for her work, resilience and dedication.

The 31 year old's cousin said in his eulogy that everything Yang did was defined by her empathy and compassion, and her belief that she could change the world.

Thousands of emergency responders from across the province and the country attended the service for the mental health and homeless outreach officer who was fatally stabbed last month in a Burnaby park.

Cocaine seizure at Blue Water Bridge totals 111 kilograms, two men charged

The Canada Border Services Agency says officers seized more than 111 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry on Feb. 19. According to a CBSA news release, a commercial truck arriving from the United States was referred for secondary inspection. During examination of the trailer, border services officers located and seized 111.4 kilograms of suspected cocaine.
