Police in Abbotsford say they are investigating after a woman reported she was taken to a rural area against her will and sexually assaulted by four men earlier this month.

According to a release from the Abbotsford Police Department, the woman told investigators she was picked up by four men on Feb. 10 near the intersection of Cannon Avenue and Bevan Avenue in Abbotsford.

Police say the woman reported that the men then drove her to the Sumas Mountain area and refused to let her leave the vehicle. Investigators say she was sexually assaulted at that location.

The suspects are described as South Asian men who were travelling in a white Lincoln Navigator SUV or a similar vehicle, police said.

Investigators say the incident appears to be targeted, although no further details about the suspects or the circumstances of the alleged assault were released.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the incident, or who may have been in the Cannon Avenue and Bevan Avenue area or near Sumas Mountain on Feb. 10, to contact the Abbotsford Police Department.
