It is worth noting that Gurpreet Gogi, the MLA from the Ludhiana West seat, passed away on January 10 this year, leaving the seat vacant.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced Sanjeev Arora, currently a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, as its candidate for the by-election to the Ludhiana West constituency in Punjab. Regarding Arora’s nomination for the MLA position, both Congress and the BJP have claimed that AAP plans to send Arvind Kejriwal to the Rajya Sabha from Punjab in place of Sanjeev Arora.

It is worth noting that Gurpreet Gogi, the MLA from the Ludhiana West seat, passed away on January 10 this year, leaving the seat vacant.

Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa alleged that Kejriwal had initially considered contesting from this seat but, fearing opposition in Punjab, decided against it. Instead, he is reportedly preparing to enter the Rajya Sabha himself by nominating Arora as the candidate for Ludhiana West.
