A man was injured in a police-involved shooting in Burnaby and was taken to hospital for treatment. According to the B.C. RCMP, police received a report of a disturbance at a home on Kingsway Avenue at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived at the scene, a man allegedly approached them while carrying a sharp-edged weapon. In response to the perceived threat, one of the officers fired their service weapon, injuring the man. The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. has taken over the investigation. Two former Alberta premiers who once stood on opposite sides of provincial politics have joined forces to oppose Alberta’s separation from Canada. Former United Conservative Party Premier Jason Kenney and former NDP Premier Rachel Notley are scheduled to speak at an event organized by the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. A train accident occurred in Multan district of Pakistan’s Punjab province on Tuesday, when the Peshawar-bound Rehman Baba Express derailed near Sher Shah Railway Station.
