Alberta Health Services says there will be an independent review into why it took an ambulance 30 minutes to get to an 86-year-old Calgary woman who had been attacked by dogs. Police and paramedics responded Sunday to the Capitol Hill neighbourhood and found the injured woman who later died. A judge has denied bail for a third man charged with conspiracy to commit murder at a border blockade earlier this year in southern Alberta. Four cases of monkeypox recorded in Alberta as COVID-19 hospitalizations fall

Alberta's Chief Medical Officer of Health says the province has now recorded four cases of monkeypox. Dr. Deena Hinshaw says all four cases involve adults who are now self-isolating and helping health officials trace their close contacts. Hinshaw says the risk of the disease in Alberta remains low. She says the disease is spread by close physical contact.That includes multiple sexual partners, although the disease is not sexually transmitted. Hinshaw adds that the number of people in hospital with COVID-19 has decreased by 20 per cent over the past two weeks.

In an old case of the Punjab Arms Act, Delhi's Patiala House Court on Friday sent gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to police custody for four days. Delhi Police South Range Special Cell had sought four days' custody of Bishnoi. Charges approved against a 33 year old woman in connection with two stabbings in Surrey

Surrey RCMP say charges have been approved against a 33 year old woman arrested in connection with two stabbings last week inside a Walmart and a grocery store. Police say a female victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the first stabbing at a Superstore a week ago. The suspect was arrested following another stabbing that was believed to be unprovoked two days later at a Walmart where the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries. The Mounties say the woman has been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Authorities: 3 dead, trooper wounded in Maryland shooting

Authorities say a man has opened fire at a business in western Maryland, leaving three dead before the suspect and a state trooper were wounded in a shootout. The Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that three victims were found dead Thursday at Columbia Machine Inc. in Smithsburg and a fourth victim was critically injured. The release says the suspect then fled in a vehicle and was tracked down by Maryland State Police. The sheriff's office says the suspect and a trooper were wounded in an exchange of gunfire. Both were being treated for their wounds.

White Rock RCMP is reminding the public that trains can move without warning, stay off the tracks, follow signals and use designated crossings.
