A former high school football coach in Winnipeg has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting nine male students over a 13-year period. Kelsey McKay was handed the sentence today after pleading guilty last year to nine counts of sexual assault and two counts of luring. The assaults took place between 2003 and 2016, when the victims were between 12 and 18 years old. Court heard that McKay had been regarded as a mentor and father figure to the students. Rustad walks back “Nuremberg 2.0” comment as B.C. leaders enter final stretch of election campaign

B.C. Conservative Leader John Rustad is facing criticism after a video surfaced of him referencing “Nuremberg 2.0,” a conspiracy theory suggesting public health officials should face trial for pandemic-era restrictions. Rustad now says his remarks were “misunderstood” and that comparing COVID-19 measures to Nazi Germany or the Holocaust is “deeply disrespectful to the memory of those who suffered.” The clarification came after a recording from July 2024 resurfaced, showing Rustad telling members of the B.C. Public Service Employees for Freedom group that his party would “certainl

Their protest had brought grain market operations to a standstill and raised concerns among farmers as the harvest season peaked. In Thursday’s meeting, the state government assured the Aarti unions that payment delays and procedural bottlenecks w
