Eby says he won't be changing mind on another B.C. pipeline, rebuffing Ford
B.C. Premier David Eby says he won't be throwing his support behind a new oil pipeline through the province, dismissing Ontario Premier Doug Ford's suggestion that Eby would change his mind.
Eby says in response to Ford's remarks on Monday that the publicly-owned TMX pipeline is already running through B.C., and the province doesn't support lifting the ban on oil tankers off British Columbia's northern coast.
He says it's not his job to tell Ford it's "extremely unlikely" there will be a tunnel under Toronto's Highway 401, or tell Alberta Premier Danielle Smith her "vision" for a pipeline conn

Carney says, removing Chinese tariffs on Canadian agriculture products a priority
Canada is reaching out to China amid the trade war with the United States. Prime Minister Mark Carney says his government is in ministerial talks with Chinese officials to remove Chinese tariffs on Canadian agricultural and seafood products, and that the issue is a top priority for the federal government.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru team win IPL title
Royal Challengers Bengaluru team is the new IPL champion. In the final match played today, RCB defeated Punjab Kings .Batting first, RCB scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Virat Kohli was the highest scorer for RCB with a knock of 43 runs. Arshdeep Singh and Jamieson picked 3 wickets each for Punjab. Chasing 191 to win, Punjab lost the game by 6 wickets. The final score for the Punjab team was 184 for the loss of 7 wickets.

Two men arrested in B.C., charged with murder in Mississauga, Ont. shooting: police
Peel Region police say two men were arrested in British Columbia and charged with murder in the shooting death of a man in Mississauga, Ont., last month.
Police say 51-year-old Harjeet Dhadda of Brampton, Ont., was allegedly approached by a suspect and shot multiple times in a Mississauga parking lot the morning of May 14, and he later died in hospital.
They allege the suspects fled in a stolen vehicle, which was found shortly after the shooting.

213 prisoners escape from Malir Jail in Karachi, Pakistan
At least 213 prisoners escaped from Malir Jail in Karachi, Pakistan on Monday night. According to the jail administration, the prisoners were evacuated from the barracks as a precaution after the earthquake tremors in Karachi.
According to the report, about 80 of them have been recaptured, while 135 prisoners are still on the run. Jail Superintendent Arshad Shah confirmed this on Tuesday morning. He said that more than 600 prisoners were outside their barracks at that time and 213 prisoners managed to escape amidst the chaos.

Liberal government introduces Bill C-2 to make the border more secure
New Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree has tabled a bill in the House of Commons that spells out Ottawa's next steps on border security.He says the legislation would give authorities new powers to search mail and allow officials to pause or cancel immigration applications more easily.

Highway 97 reopened after nearby wildfire forced closure near Fort Nelson, B.C.
The stretch of the Alaska Highway near Fort Nelson, B.C., that closed Monday due to a nearby wildfire has reopened to single lane traffic.
Drive BC announced the update in a post around 9:30 p.m., saying the status could change quickly depending on wildfire activity.
The BC Wildfire Service says the blaze is about 26 square kilometres in size and is burning out of control about 10 kilometres northeast of Summit Lake.
It is one of two "wildfires of note" in the province and prompted the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality to issue an evacuation alert on Monday for the Tetsa River Area.
